🕯️Assembly on Advent🕯️ – The First Candle of Hope🕯️
Today, our school came together to celebrate the sacred season of Advent with a heartfelt assembly centered on the First Candle of Advent – Hope. The event was filled with reverence and joy as the anticipation of Jesus’ coming filled every heart with peace and happiness.
The ceremonial lighting of the First Candle of Advent, symbolizing Hope, was performed by Rev. Sister Principal Sr. Juliana Fernandes, in the esteemed presence of our beloved Sisters. This act served as a powerful reminder of the guiding light of hope in our faith journey.
The assembly continued with a soulful prayer service, emphasizing the importance of hope and resilience in challenging times. Students then presented a beautifully choreographed dance and a moving skit, both creatively illustrating the theme of hope and its profound connection to the Advent season. Their inspiring performances captivated the audience and brought the message of hope to life.
The event not only celebrated the Advent season but also encouraged everyone to carry the light of hope in their hearts. It was a memorable and uplifting day, brimming with faith, joy, and the anticipation of Christmas.
On November 9th, 2024, Sophia Senior Secondary School, Bikaner, hosted Nexus Expo 2024, a spectacular science exhibition showcasing innovative projects from students across classes I-XII. Over 500 students presented 200+ projects, exploring diverse themes such as Save Aquatic Animals, Smart Cities and Science Cities, Tech Commerce: Where Ideas Meet Opportunity, Travel Back in Time to the Harappan Civilization, Science and Technology for Sustainable Future, and a Zombie Apocalypse-themed exhibit, where students shed a "beam of hope" through their remarkable exhibits, illuminating the power of science to overcome even the darkest challenges.
The exhibition featured interactive models, 3D models, simulations, and interactive timelines, covering biology, chemistry, physics, math, environmental science, commerce, and computer science. Students displayed exceptional enthusiasm and dedication, presenting live performances, working models, and creative projects on topics like:
- Waste management and renewable energy in a post-apocalyptic zombie world
- Human anatomy and AI robotics for Smart Cities
- Sustainable development and eco-friendly innovations for a better future
- Conservation efforts and pollution solutions to Save Aquatic Animals
- Historical recreations of the Harappan Civilization
- Models demonstrating scientific concepts, such as the solar system, volcanic eruptions, and the water cycle
- Simulations of complex scientific concepts, including Newton's third law and satellite communication
- Digital payment systems and tech commerce solutions
- A "Dino World" themed room featuring interactive exhibits
- A "Smart Section" showcasing smart dustbins, radar systems, and smart toll gates
The event promoted scientific inquiry, creativity, and critical thinking, inspiring students to pursue careers in science and technology. Visitors, including parents and VIPs, were amazed by the students' passion for discovery and left appreciative notes, deeply motivating them toward a sustainable future.

The exhibition was a testament to the school's commitment to providing a platform for students to explore, learn, and grow. "Nurturing a Greener Future: #Plant4Mother Initiative"
In a heartwarming display of environmental consciousness and bonding, mothers and their children came together to participate in the #Plant4Mother initiative, conducted by CBSE. This innovative program aimed to encourage families to plant trees and foster a sense of responsibility towards the planet. On July 27, 2024, mothers and their children enthusiastically gathered at the assembly ground to plant saplings and pledge their commitment to protecting the environment.
The #Plant4Mother initiative not only promoted environmental awareness but also provided a unique opportunity for mothers to share quality time with their children, teaching them valuable lessons about nurturing and caring for nature.

In celebration of Shiksha Saptah and the 4th anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP), a Skilling Day was observed. The focus was on cleaning and organizing, with students involved in tasks such as organizing spaces effectively, maintaining cleanliness, and managing time. These activities aimed to teach the importance of systematic approaches to organizing and creating conducive environments. Students learned valuable skills in maintaining cleanliness and organizing their surroundings, contributing to a more pleasant and effective learning environment. This initiative successfully aligned with the NEP’s goals, promoting holistic education and practical life skills.More than350 participated in cleaning drive along with 8 teachers.
